Psalm 23

I received the following text in an Email. I liked it so much that I decided to share it thru this avenue. I don't know who the author is, but herewith compliment him or her for sharing this insight. I for one was blessed by it...! May it bless all who read it.

------------

Subject: Psalm 23 - (oldie but goodie)

This is an eye opener; some probably never thought or looked at Psalm 23 in this way, even though they say it over and over again.

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's Relationship!

I shall not want
That's Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That's Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That's Guidance!

For His name sake
That's Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That's Testing!

I will fear no evil
That's Protection!

For Thou art with me
That's Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That's Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That's Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's Security!

Forever
That's Eternity!

Face it…: the Lord is crazy about you!!!!!

Send this to people you are crazy about. I thought this was pretty special, just like YOU!!!
What is most valuable is not what we have in our lives, but WHO we have in our lives!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8 (NKJV)

This is article is especially for those of you who are yet to discover a personal relationship with God. In addition, it’s also for those of you interested in my testimony. Okay…without further ado…this is how it all started:

We’re a family of 4 (consisting of parents and 2 children), and my brother and I enjoyed a reasonably healthy childhood and were raised based on Roman Catholic values. As such, I knew about Jesus Christ, but didn’t know (or never realized) that I could actually possess a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior. I guess the notion of Him being aaalll the way up there in Heaven and not being able to see him kinda clouded my comprehension that a personal and intimate relationship with Him was attainable.

During my teenage years, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I was approached by fellow students who were sharing the Gospel (the good news) of Salvation thru Christ Jesus. They asked me if I desired salvation and explained that it was only attainable thru Jesus Christ. Since I couldn’t recall ever accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I decided to “play it safe” and allowed them to guide me through the sinner’s prayer. I don’t recall the exact date of this wonderful event, but in retrospect I now understand that my walk with Jesus – or rather His walk with me – started since then. Yes, He was walking with me…., because I remained extremely distant from Him and God the Father for many years given my lack of knowledge and proper spiritual guidance.

Years later, I finally decided to accept (one of many) invitations to attend a non-Catholic church service. I enjoyed that service immensely: I had found something that I didn’t realize I’d been searching for nor needed. The Minister at said service had conveyed a powerful message and gave an in depth explanation of the Word of God.

Consequently, I started spending a lot of time reading the Bible and looking at televised religious programs. To this day I enjoy studying the Bible as well as practical Bible teaching messages conveyed by i.e. Joyce Meyer and TD Jakes. About 3 years ago I also started tuning in to programs hosted by Joel Osteen and highly recommend his book “Your Best Life Now” to anyone interested in acquiring information as to how to live life whilst achieving their full potential. Another book that I highly recommend is entitled "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. If you’re wondering about the purpose of life, this book will definitely give you some valuable insight.

I’ve been proper nurturing my spiritual life for 7 going to 8 years now, and I continue to grow in knowledge and understanding of the things of Almighty God. I’m grateful to Him for not giving up on me, and for the wonderful things I’ve experienced and still am experiencing.

Over the years I’ve gradually learned how to “draw near to Him” and I’m truly experiencing His promise to “draw near to those who draw near to Him”. It’s an amazing, fulfilling, and wonderful journey whilst in an intimate relationship with God. I for one am convinced that it has absolutely nothing to do with neither religion nor related traditions for we (Bible-believing Christians from all denominations ie Adventists, Baptists, Catholics, Jews, Jehovah witnesses, Methodists, etc.) can all learn from each other. However, it IS about enjoying (having, possessing) an intimate relationship with God. It’s my sincere prayer that you will be inspired to seek and discover that it is possible to have such a relationship. Be encouraged to “Draw near to God and He will certainly draw near to you”.

How to Stop Cancer before It Starts

I read this article at Dr Colbert.com and decided to post it FYI due to the fast increasing number of those afflicted by this illness locally and across the globe. It's my prayer that it will help millions all over the world.

----

How to Stop Cancer before It Starts
by Don Colbert, M.D.

Approximately one out of every three Americans will get cancer in their lifetime. The National Cancer Institute links one-third of all cancer cases to the use of tobacco and another third to the foods that we eat. In other words, approximately two-thirds of cancer cases can be prevented with diet and lifestyle modification.

Chinese and Japanese men and women have significantly lower rates of prostate and breast cancer than American men and women—approximately 90 percent less breast cancer in women and about 90 percent less prostate cancer in men. One of the main reasons for this is because of their high consumption of soy products. Even though the U.S. is the largest producer of soy in the world, Americans consume very little soy protein, if any. The Japanese people alone consume approximately thirty times more soy products than Americans.

What’s so great about soy? Soy contains powerful phytonutrients called isoflavones, such as genestein, which protect women from developing breast cancer and men from developing prostate cancer. Even if one has breast or prostate cancer, genestein will likely slow down the growth and the spread of cancer in the body.

I recommend that all my patients begin substituting soymilk and soy cheese for regular milk and cheese. I also encourage them to consume a soy protein drink daily. By mixing soymilk and frozen blueberries, strawberries, or other fruit in a blender, you can make a delicious and nutritious drink. This is an excellent way to start the day.

Many experts recommend around 35 to 40 grams of soy protein a day, which is the average amount of soy consumed by individuals in Taiwan. If you don’t enjoy soymilk, you can start by drinking half skim milk and half soymilk and then gradually increase the amount of soymilk. Other forms of soy include roasted soy nuts, tempeh, and tofu. One type of soy you should avoid is soybean oil because it is high in polyunsaturated fat. Also soy sauce, which is very high in sodium, should only be consumed in small amounts.

Another diet change I encourage is to decrease the consumption of saturated, polyunsaturated, and hydrogenated fats. This will also help reduce the risk of cancer. Saturated fats are found primarily in fatty cuts of meat, chicken skins, and dairy products—such as milk, cheese, butter, and ice cream. Polyunsaturated fats are found in sunflower oil, safflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil, and most salad dressings and cooking oils. Polyunsaturated fats actually cause more free radical damage to our body’s cells than saturated fats. This can eventually cause mutations in DNA resulting in cancer. Hydrogenated fats are found primarily in margarines and peanut butters.

I strongly recommend substituting extra virgin olive oil in place of polyunsaturated oils.
Additionally, you can decrease your consumption of saturated fats by consuming extra lean free-range meats, skinning chicken, and choosing to bake or broil instead of frying. And eating red meat should be limited to once a week in the amount of about 4 ounces.

I also suggest that adults consume five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day, along with decreasing the consumption of sugar. This is important because sugar actually feeds cancer and decreases the function of the immune system.

Of equal importance is the increased consumption of high fiber foods. These include beans, peas, whole grain breads, oat bran, fruits, and ground flaxseeds. Approximately 25 to 35 grams of fiber is recommended each day.

And finally, begin a regular exercise program. Men and women that are out of shape are 300 percent more likely to develop cancer than those who exercise regularly. A walking program every other day for twenty to thirty minutes is an excellent program for helping to prevent cancer.

By implementing these simple suggestions, along with avoiding cigarette smoke, you can give your body a fighting chance against cancer—stopping it before it starts.

Highly Recommended Literature

Rediscovering the Kingdom by Myles Munroe

I read this book and highly recommend it to anyone...it's an "eye opener"!
Here's additional info to help you decide if you should read it.

Table of Content

Book Description
When governments collapse, human philosophies fail and your life is crashing down around you, Rediscovering the Kingdom will become your guide through the treacherous storms of the 21st century. All of the past ideologies have failed—humanism, communism, totalitarianism, fascism, socialism and even democracy. This is a philosophy, an ideology that will not fail, for it was bore in the heart of God Himself.

As Dr. Munroe unveils the reality and the power of the Kingdom of God, you will be challenged to the core of your religious soul as you discover realities that few have seen, let alone talked about.

Rediscovering the Kingdom will defy almost every concept you have about religion as it shifts the focus away from religion towards the ultimate issue—the Kingdom of God. In this book you will discover:
• The keys that make the Kingdom function in your life.
• Why religion cannot solve your problems.
• Why governments and world leaders continue to fail us.
• Why religion can never fulfill your deepest desire.
• Why power is the pursuit of all mankind.
• The present and future reality of the Kingdom among us.
• The original message and purpose of Jesus.

Called for workplace ministry

Becoming a successful entrepreneur has been one of my heart’s desires ever since my youth. I even started pursuing that desire from about age 18. Back then I was a part-time freelance manicurist and delivered my services to a niche market: the wives of wealthy businessmen originating from foreign countries.

Later in life I set-out to be a fulltime business owner and achieved that objective. I owned an Insurance agency for about 5 years. The business developed well during 4 years, but things rapidly went downhill in the 5th year due to a combination of circumstances – hurricane Louis was among them. Ironically it was also the year I had re-committed my life to the Lord.

1995 was a trying year for me on various levels, but I’m pleased to report that I saw God move in a mighty way whilst saving my business on several occasions – each one at “a nick of time”. In hindsight, I realize that it was a spiritual battle. Little did I know then that it was designed to prevent me from fulfilling part of my destiny: entrepreneurial workplace ministry.

Since the beginning of 2006 I’ve been getting one confirmation after the next that I should pursue this ministry. My preceding post (on May 28th '06) offers an illustration of this, and today I’m impressed to share the following revelation for the benefit of those who are to join this new and powerful global move of God. I for one recognized it as yet another confirmation that I should continue to pursue my heart’s desire for it is He who gave it to me.

Scripture Passage: “…saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive (contain) it.” (Mal 3:10)

Revelation: - God's actions always have purposes. Why would He pour out a blessing to someone fully conscious of the fact that he or she won’t have room enough to receive (contain) it? The answer is simple: there won’t be room enough to receive (contain) it, because it was not meant to be stored (contained). Remember: God also instructs us not to lay up our riches.

The blessing is not meant to be stored (contained), because it’s intended to be distributed among His lords here on earth to accomplish His will and purpose(s) i.e: the advancement of His Kingdom here on earth for we (the Believers) are His Kingdom here on earth. Remember the prayer: "....thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven...".

God is our Source (for everything) and that which He blesses us with (such as the fruit of our labor in the market place) are part of the resources needed to accomplish His will. Hence, this revelation warrants a higher level of "good stewardship" of that which He blesses us with...especially the blessings that come in a measure of "(great) overflow".
